This article contains some statistics about the Black immigrant population in the U.S. Citing Census data, the author notes that approximately ten percent of the U.S. immigrant population is Black. Of the overall Black population in the U.S., approximately ten percent are immigrants. More than half (54 percent) of U.S. Black immigrants are from the Caribbean and Latin America, while 42 percent are from Africa. The top countries of origin are Jamaica, Haiti, and Nigeria. The article also includes a list of organizations (with links to their websites) that focus on service to and advocacy for the Black immigrant population in the U.S.
