Our goal is to assign people tasks that are consistent with their skills and interests.

Social Media Coordinator
The Coalition is looking for a creative, digitally savvy volunteer to amplify the Coalition’s voice on social media. The volunteer will help to turn our mission and goals into engaging digital narratives. Here are the key responsibilities:
- Interact with Board members responsible for content development and follow up on their suggestions
- Draft and publish effective and engaging content
- Help to create new social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram)
- Train and encourage Coalition volunteers to use their personal or professional social accounts to share information about the Coalition’s work
- Attend selected Coalition webinars and online committee meetings in order to better understand posting criteria
Membership Developer
The Coalition prides itself on the number of business organizations and Individuals willing to become members of the Coalition. We seek a retired business person willing to reach out to potential members, explain our mission and goals, and respond to any questions they may have. Here are the main responsibilities:
- Show effectiveness in articulating the importance of organizational membership
- Identify companies and associations inclined to join the Coalition
- Secure and follow up on membership suggestions from current members
- Respond to question from, and engage in dialogue with potential members
- Develop and circulate persuasive membership appeals
- Maintain a record of all interactions with potential organizational members
Research Abstract Writer
The Coalition believes in the importance of evidence-based immigration policy. Objective and high-quality research should guide our decision-making as an organization. We seek a volunteer with writing skills willing to review and summarize important immigration research. Here are the main responsibilities:
- Read selected immigration research reports
- Write research report abstracts according to Coalition guidelines
- Publish abstracts on the Coalition's website
Board of Trustees or Committee Members
As a nonprofit organization, the Coalition is governed by a Board of Trustees of 16 to 20 members. We also have active committees working in the areas of planning, education and advocacy, organizational development, and immigrant recognition. We periodically seek volunteers to fill vacancies in these assignments.
- Board members generally represent business organizations and are elected on an annual basis. They generally attend at least 8 online meetings per year.
- Committee members have expertise in specific areas. They may or may not be members of the Board. They will also commit to attending at least 8 online meetings per year.
